Full-house residential lighting design and custom lighting integration

Located in Kew, this exceptional residence is part of an award-winning architectural project recognised for its refined spatial design, materiality, and contemporary living experience. Delivered through close collaboration between the developer, architect, and design team, the project reflects a highly considered approach to modern residential design.

Lucretia was engaged to deliver the lighting design component, working alongside the broader project team to ensure the lighting integrates seamlessly with the architecture. Our role focused on enhancing the spatial quality of the home and bringing the design to life beyond daylight hours.

Award-Winning Architecture & Interior Design

In daylight, the residence is defined by its strong architectural language and carefully curated material palette. Clean lines, sculptural forms, and full-height glazing create a sense of openness and connection between spaces, while natural light plays a key role in shaping the interior experience.

The use of natural light enhances textures and materials, allowing the architecture to stand on its own. Each space is carefully composed to deliver a refined and balanced environment, where proportion, light, and materiality work together to define the overall design intent.

The Residence in Lighting Mode

As the natural light recedes, the atmosphere of the residence shifts into a more controlled and intimate environment. Our approach was to work with the existing architectural language, allowing the lighting to quietly reinforce spatial qualities rather than redefine them.

Lucretia’s Lighting Design Approach

A layered lighting strategy was introduced to support different functions and moments within the home, combining soft ambient light with subtle accents. Key architectural features are gently emphasised, with light revealing depth, edges, and material transitions without overwhelming the space.

Linear lighting is integrated into joinery and architectural details to provide a consistent visual rhythm, while carefully positioned fixtures maintain clarity and comfort throughout the interiors. The overall effect is calm and cohesive, allowing the residence to transition seamlessly from day to night.

Through this approach, lighting becomes an extension of the architecture, completing the spatial experience and enhancing the way the home is perceived after dark.
