Midea Melbourne HVAC Showroom

A combined lighting, signage, and display project delivered end to end by Lucretia Lighting and Lucretia Sign.

When Midea built its Melbourne HVAC showroom, the brief went well beyond lighting. The space had to present a global brand to architects, specifiers, and trade visitors, and every visual system in it had to work together.

Lucretia delivered all of it as a single partner. We supplied and coordinated the architectural lighting through the showroom, office, and academy, the illuminated signage across the building exterior, and the transparent LED mesh display behind the main glass facade. One team carried the project from specification to installation and handover.

That is the work people rarely see: not a single fixture, but a complete commercial environment, integrated and delivered end to end.

Tip: use the Day and Night toggle to switch the whole page between daytime and after-dark views. The lighting, the illuminated signage, and the LED display all come to life at night, so it is worth seeing both.

01 / Lighting

Architectural Lighting

Lucretia designed and delivered the architectural lighting across the entire facility.

Lighting

Showroom

The showroom is where Midea presents its commercial HVAC range to trade and design visitors, so the lighting had to do real work. We lit the product wall and feature displays for clarity and contrast, while keeping the exposed services ceiling looking deliberate rather than cluttered.

Track and recessed fittings were positioned to highlight the displays and lead visitors through the floor, with a colour temperature chosen to render products accurately and keep the space bright, crisp, and commercial.

Behind the showroom, the office is a daily working environment, so the priority shifted from display to comfort and focus. The lighting delivers even, glare-controlled illumination across desks and meeting areas, with a calmer character than the retail floor.

Fittings sit flush and unobtrusive, supporting long working hours without the harshness of typical office lighting.

Lighting

Academy

The academy is Midea's training and presentation space, where the lighting needs to support both screen-based sessions and hands-on learning. We balanced comfortable, even light for note-taking and discussion with controlled levels that keep presentation screens clear and legible.

The scheme works with the warm timber finishes of the room, creating a focused, professional setting for trade training and product education.

02 / Signage & Display

Signage & Display

With the interior resolved, the same team carried the Midea brand to the building exterior. Lucretia Sign designed, fabricated, and installed the external signage as part of the one project, so the look, finish, and lighting stayed consistent from inside to out.

The signage spans illuminated facade lettering, a rotating cube display, and the transparent LED mesh behind the glass, each engineered to perform day and night.

Signage

Illuminated facade signs

Three illuminated signs establish the Midea identity across the building facade and draw the eye from the street and passing traffic. Each was fabricated for crisp, even illumination, so the brand reads cleanly by day and lights up clearly after dark.

We handled the signs end to end, from fabrication to mounting and electrical connection, and coordinated them with the facade so the result looks integrated rather than applied.

Signage

LED cube sign

A compact, double-sided LED cube sits at the entry, putting Midea's brand on a small digital screen rather than a fixed panel. It is currently running scrolling text, but the cube is a full LED display: it can play video, motion graphics, or any content Midea wants, and the message can be changed at any time.

Positioned at the storefront, it adds a bright, programmable touchpoint that draws attention without competing with the main signage. Like every element on site, it was supplied and installed by Lucretia as part of the single delivery, matched to the surrounding signage in finish and illumination.

Signage / Feature

Transparent LED Mesh Display

The transparent LED mesh display is the centrepiece of the Midea showroom, and the clearest example of what Lucretia delivers beyond lighting and signage. Installed behind the main glass
facade, it turns the entire storefront into a large-format digital canvas while the glass stays clear and the showroom keeps its natural light.

This is the effect that stops people on the street. By day, the facade reads as a clean,
transparent shopfront with vivid content moving across it. By night, the display becomes a glowing landmark, visible from a distance and from passing traffic, giving Midea a presence on the streetscape that static signage cannot match.

Delivering this in a retail window is a genuine technical exercise, not an off-the-shelf install. The display had to be bright enough to stay sharp against daylight, transparent enough to keep sightlines open and let daylight into the showroom, and slim enough to sit discreetly behind the glass without blocking the interior or working against the architecture. We specified, supplied, and commissioned a transparent mesh built for exactly this: high transparency for glass applications, high brightness for window-facing positions, and an ultra-slim, frameless structure that keeps the shopfront clean.

The content is fully programmable, so Midea can run brand films, product launches, and seasonal campaigns on the facade and change them whenever they choose. The shopfront stops being a fixed sign and becomes a flexible communication surface that earns attention every day.

For us, the mesh display is where the whole project comes together. Lighting, signage, and a feature digital display, specified to work as one, integrated into the building, and delivered by a single team. It is the kind of result that is only possible when one partner takes responsibility for the entire visual environment of a commercial space.

One-Stop Commercial Solutions

Midea is one example of how Lucretia works on commercial projects. We bring the visual and physical elements of a space together under one roof: architectural and decorative lighting, internal and external signage, digital and LED display, and building materials and finishes.

Lucretia Lighting covers the full scope of architectural and decorative lighting for commercial and high-end residential projects. We design custom and feature lighting, specify and supply complete schemes, and work directly with architects and interior designers so the lighting suits the space rather than sitting on top of it. From product showrooms and offices to facades and public areas, we take a scheme from concept through specification, supply, and installation, and stand behind it on site. The focus is lighting planned around how a space is actually used, and delivered as part of the project rather than handed over as a box of fittings.

Lucretia Sign brings a brand to the building and the street. We design, fabricate, and install illuminated signage and exterior lettering, through to advanced digital formats such as transparent LED mesh and large-format screens. Because signage and lighting come from the same company, finishes, illumination, and mounting stay consistent with the rest of the fit-out, with one team accountable from fabrication to electrical connection. Whether it is a single illuminated sign or a full storefront running programmable content, we deliver signage that performs day and night and reads as part of the architecture.

Lucretia Space completes the picture with decorative materials and architectural finishes for commercial and residential interiors. This is the part of a fit-out that sets the tone of a space: surfaces, feature materials, and finishes chosen to work with the lighting and signage rather than against them. By bringing materials into the same conversation as the lighting and display, we help a project hold a consistent look across every surface, specified and supplied through the one partner. It is what lets Lucretia take responsibility for the complete environment of a space, not only the elements that switch on.
