Wagyu Ya Glen Waverley
Japanese Dining & Exterior Façade Lighting Design
Warm, Culturally Immersive Lighting for Wagyu Ya Japanese Dining
Lucretia Lighting was commissioned to provide the full lighting design and supply package for the newly opened Wagyu Ya Glen Waverley, a refined Japanese dining destination encompassing teppanyaki, private booths, and exterior architectural features.
Working closely with the design team, our scope included lighting design, fixture specification, and product customisation. Our approach focused on creating a warm, intimate, and culturally immersive experience — achieved through precise low CCT lighting (2200K–2700K), concealed linear light integrations, tailored spotlighting, and custom feature wall lighting.
Key design elements included
Linear lighting embedded in Japanese rattan façade elements and screen walls
Accent lighting for wave-like timber feature wall using custom-contoured LED strips
Warm, low-glare illumination in teppanyaki and omakase spaces using track lighting + wash lights
Ambient booth lighting and under-seat LED profiles for visual softness
Subtle landscape lighting in exterior zones to guide movement and maintain atmosphere
