Award-Winning Architectural Lighting Integration
Lighting Design for an Award-Winning Kew Residence
This award-winning residence in Kew is a testament to modern architectural excellence, and Lucretia Lighting was entrusted with the task of designing a lighting scheme that would enhance—rather than compete with—its sculptural form.
Enhancing Architectural Rhythm Through Light
Our lighting design was carefully developed to complement the building’s architectural rhythm, beginning with a dramatic linear lighting installation at the entry, which emphasizes the vertical geometry of the facade and draws attention to the double-height void beyond.
Inside, we implemented a full-spectrum lighting strategy built around four key layers: general lighting, ambient lighting, task lighting, and decorative lighting. Anti-glare recessed downlights were used selectively to preserve the purity of the ceiling plane. Linear lighting was integrated seamlessly throughout the home—from beneath stair treads to joinery reveals and curtain pelmets—softly illuminating architectural features without overpowering the design.
Refining Materials Through Purposeful Illumination
Particular attention was given to highlighting signature materials: the full-height marble wall in the kitchen and the curved wall treatment in the master bedroom. These were accented with custom lighting details that brought out texture, form, and tone.
Rather than simply lighting a space, every fitting in this home was positioned to reinforce architectural intent—resulting in a cohesive, high-impact outcome that contributes directly to the value and aesthetic strength of the property.
