Playful Atmosphere & Optimal Function: Childcare Lighting Design, Highett VIC
This proposed childcare development in Highett, VIC, was a collaboration between our team and the architectural firm behind the project. The design brief was clear — ensure optimal functional lighting levels throughout the indoor and outdoor spaces while creating a playful, child-friendly atmosphere.
To achieve this, we developed a full lighting solution covering both interior and exterior areas. The indoor lighting concept revolved around themes for each room, incorporating cartoon-inspired lighting shapes and stretch ceiling features that add depth and imagination. Soft, linear lighting lines and diffuse stretch ceiling panels were used to enhance the visual experience without overwhelming young eyes.
Circadian Rhythm Support: Soft, Non-Glare Lighting for Rest Areas
Special attention was paid to rest areas, where we introduced a custom-designed skyline linear system to create a soft, non-glare ambient glow. This not only supports the children's circadian rhythm but also reduces visual fatigue.
